Interdisciplinary artist Fernando Aguiar of Lisbon, Portugal performs his Action Sonnets on Saturday May 9 in the Colonial Arcade Ballroom.. Aguiar combines sonnets and video, installation and performance to explore the traditional structures of literature with contemporary languages and technology. Aguiar uses words and letters with four microphones, a special sonnet suit, glass tubes of paint and minimal sounds and music to depict his three action sonnets. He has been making visual poetry, installations, painting, video and performance since 1979.
