Tommy Eddy
Invitational Artist Tommy Eddy of San Francisco challenges her father's illness and her own body on Tuesday May 6 in her healing ritual They Call It Cancer in the Colonial Arcade Ballroom. Eddy graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1994 and has presented her performance at several area galleries. Utilizing her body, a casket hung from the ceiling and a human-like wooden form, Eddy conceptually heal herself through movement and scarring the wooden form with brands. They Call It Cancer transforms her father's diagnosis of cancer into a vehicle for healing in the performative process.
