Charles Garoian
Charles Garoian of State College, Pennsylvania performed
as an Invitational Artist in PAF 96. This year, he returns Thursday
May 8 with his autobiographical work, The Yogurt Man, presented at
the Colonial Arcade. Garoian's performance mixes cultural identification,
interdisciplinary strategies and religious background to tell the strange
story of Brother Peter, the Yogurt Man. It is divided into three parts,
Lactose Intolerance, Spiritual Diarrhea and The Body Purged. Charles Garoian
was the principal organizer of the Performance Art, Culture, Pedagogy Symposium
held this past November at Penn State University, where he is an assistant
professor.
