in order to prohibit following fires."

"O Yes, O No, There Is No Doubt, The Finest Fire Is The Fire That's Out"

Part III:
"Brand"

One of the premier fire artists in the world, Kain Karawahn began his fire work in 1984 with a guerrilla fire performance on the Berlin Wall. Since then, he has exhibited fire photography and video worldwide, written a theatre play and now returns to Cleveland after a spectacular fire performance in PAF93. For 1996, in celebration of Cleveland's bicentennial, and inspired by the infamous 1969 fire on the Cuyahoga River, Karawahn presents a three-part performance, "52-69-96: performance without fire in triple scorchings, an experimental search to find out why the Cuyahoga became inflamed two times in order to prohibit following fires. Part I: Burn. Part II: O Yes, O No, There Is No Doubt, The Finest Fire Is The Fire That's Out. Part III: Brand."
