Lynn Book

"Gorgeous Fever"

Lynn Book is an interdisciplinary vocal/performance artist, who has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for the last ten years and is currently living in New York City. "Gorgeous Fever" is a baroque drama, (simulcast live on the radio) which lulls and pushes the audience onto a feverish delirium while exploring madness and the subjugation of women within a conformist society. Utilizing techniquues of a circus sideshow, a radio drama, and a call-in talk show, Lynn Book forces her adience to consider how institutional values shape their own identity and social prognosis.
