Invitational Performer 1997

Los Tricksters

Los Tricksters of Oakland, California create their own border to cross in Out of this World. On Saturday May 10 in the Colonial Arcade Domingo Nuño, Sergio de la Torre and Julio Morales lead the audience on a transnational and transcultural expedition. Dressed as a burro and a zebra, they sell passport stamps for admittance to the performance as well as providing shoe-shines for the audience. They use this carnival-like experience to envision the crises migrant people face in their day to day struggle. Formed in 1995, the group examines cultural identity politics and post colonial conditions.
