With the Great Lakes shipping season in full swing for 1938, the harbor at Ashtabula, O., is buzzing with activity as the big freighters load and discharge thier cargos of ore, coal, automobiles and other materials used by the giant industries which border on the lakes. The photo shows an air view of the harbor, taken from the North. Several of the freighters are shown tied up at their piers and huge piles of coal are stacked on the ground, ready for loading. |
