Naef & Joslin Photographs
Conneaut, Ohio

Naef & Joslin was a professional photography firm, located at 208 Main Street, in Conneaut, Ohio. About 1900 they took several series of photographs of the bulk material handling equipment and other features at the port of Conneaut.

Thirty-five of these 8x10 sepia-toned photos were acquired by the Cleveland State University Library and added to its Special Collections. In 2000, 16 different images were acquired and added.

We have grouped these photographs as follows:

Dock One The ten views of Dock one show the Brown Ore Storage Bridges.
Dock Four The twenty-two views of Dock four include photographs of the construction of two Hulett Unloaders.
Equipment The five views in this group provide a closer look at the equipment used at the Conneaut Harbor.
Vessels These thirteen views of vessels in Conneaut Harbor include four vessels from the Algoma Central Steamship Line.
