Text From Photograph: This complex of machinery is the high speed rotary coal transfer facility built by the Chesapeke and Ohio Railway at its Port of Toledo docks. Two carloads of coal are dumped simultaneously (foreground) onto a conveyor, which carries the mineral to the loading tower (right), and thence into the holds of a ship. This machine, one of the largest and fastest in the world, has a capacity of 6,000 tons an hour.
