CCC:
The Civilian Conservation Corps
in Greater Cleveland
(and beyond)

WELCOME to the 67th reunion of the Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni, meeting September 6-8, 2000, in Independence, Ohio!

The Civilian Conservation Corps, the CCC, was a federal agency designed to provide work for the many young men unemployed during the Depression. The CCC, like the WPA, created important segments of the national infrastructure before World War II, including the work done on Cleveland Metroparks by the CCC.

"Wonder What Life is Like At C.C.C. Camp?" was a 1935 Cleveland News article by Ned Moss, reprinted here.

Here are the CCC photos from the Cleveland Press Collection.
