Cleveland Memory and the Cleveland Digital Library are all about content: digital resources that can help teachers, students, historians, house-hunters, genealogists, and casual visitors, learn more about the history of northern Ohio. To do this, we need access to individual items or entire collections of materials that are in private hands. If you have photographs or other old, historical items you think might be of interest, and are willing to either donate it to Special Collections, at the Cleveland State University Library, or at least let us make a copy for digitizing, then we'd love to hear from you. We've already had people donate important items that are now on the web, such as the thousands of Cleveland Union Terminal construction photographs donated by Gerald Adams and Robert Linsey. Many people gave us items to include in our site Cleveland's First Infrastructure: the Ohio & Erie Canal. If you're not quite ready to make a permanent donation, follow the lead of CSU Professor Walter Leedy and consider lending us your collection for digitization. Dr. Leedy's extremely popular collection is gradually being scanned and cataloged, and is available at the Postcards of Cleveland exhibit. If you can help, please get in touch with us - online or in person. THANK YOU!
